The first lesson with Andrew Chow at the DJ Academy was nothing short of a wonder. We did all these on a PDX-2000(turntable) and PMC-07PRO(mixer); fixing of the stylus, reading tracks on a 12" vinyl record, fade in & fade out, que-scratch and dragging. Was pretty cool. Andrew is a wizard. We played the Black Eyed Peas against Stone Throw's record beats. The only part to me that was pretty hazardous was the dragging. There were a few times when i went off beat and that resulted in unequal beats. You should listen to unequal beats. It accelerates your heart beat and elevates your adraneline levels. :P Anyways, i aspire to play at major clubs, and i hope to be one of Singapore's renowned DJ. If i can, i would love to participate in the DJ Quest one day. The semis are coming up pretty soon, though i don't know where it'll be held at. Just read my own entry and i sound pretty egoistic don't i? :P That's being a guy i suppose. And i AM a guy. I know, cause i checked. =P So till the next scratch on thursday then. Peace and out.
